Confectionery! was founded in 2016 as the cross section between two upstate vegan businesses Sweet Maresa’s and Lagusta’s Luscious. Maresa’s crew makes beautiful baked goods while Lagusta’s team crafts gorgeous chocolates. All of our sweets are entirely vegan, made with good ingredients, use local produce as much as possible, and above all are delicious. We are actively trying to do good in the world. We take great pride in not sacrificing our principles just to make a better profit. We have a commitment to not only listening to, but amplifying marginalized folks to feel empowered to expand our business’s values, goals, and understanding. We excel at the millions of small actions that make a business (and a job, and a life) great. We provide heartfelt and sincere service. We respect and are grateful for our customers, who are also our neighbors and friends. We are appreciative and respectful of each other. We have fun together. We believe the earth is a source of astonishing richness that must be respected, so we use good ingredients that are good to the earth. We believe animals are not on this planet for us to use, so we do not use animal products. We believe in mind-bowing flavor, the palate-expanding power of unexpected flavor combinations, and small batch sweets so fresh they burst with life. From our 100% ethical sweets to our 100% post-consumer recycled paper boxes and packing materials, we are a completely vegan, woman-owned + operated business committed to sustainability without sacrifice, a healthy + safe work environment, and giving back to our community.
