After many years of working for large law firms and hating the way they treated individual clients like numbers, I decided it was time to open my own practice. At that point, I had years of experience in accident cases working for both plaintiffs and defendants, and had tried many cases. Just before September 11, 2001 I rented office space down in the East Village. I loved the neighborhood and the people, and gave clients individual attention from day one. As the firm grew and the case load increased, my husband James Hoffmaier joined the practice as a partner. Since I loved being in the courtroom and hated paperwork, James happily took over that portion of the business. He also, at that point, had 10 years of practice in accidents and was fluent on all forms of paperwork that make a law practice run. We still, to this day, like to give each client the individual attention they deserve.
